Meet Dr. Vasileff
Dr. William J. Vasileff is a board-certified Detroit, Michigan plastic surgeon and founder of the Birmingham Institute of Plastic Surgery. Throughout his 28-year career, he has achieved a reputation as a physician whose extensive training and experience in cosmetic and reconstructive procedures transforms the way people feel about their inner and outer beauty.
A lifelong area resident, Dr. Vasileff's journey in the medical field began in 1974 when he graduated
from the University of Michigan Medical School. Over the next five years, Dr. Vasileff completed his surgical training at Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago where he specialized in General and Ear,
Nose and Throat Surgery. After successfully completing his residency in Plastic Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, Dr. Vasileff moved to Philadelphia to undergo a Fellowship in Craniofacial Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania Medical School.
Dr. Vasileff's specialized and well-rounded training, coupled with his caring nature and extensive knowledge, has made him one of the most popular plastic surgeons in Michigan. Dr. Vasileff is an active member of the Michigan and Oakland County Medical Societies, and he lectures frequently in the community on various topics relating to plastic surgery. In addition, Dr. Vasileff stays on top of new procedures and medical advances by attending annual conferences sponsored by industry-leading organizations such as the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the Multispecialty Foundation.
On a personal note, Dr. Vasileff has been married for 33 years and has four sons ranging in age from 28 to 20. He is a past member of the Birmingham Optimist Club and coached Little League baseball for 12 years. It was a special thrill for Dr. Vasileff to attend the first Detroit Tigers Fantasy Camp in 1984 and play with members of the 1968 World Champion Tigers. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf and watching his two youngest sons play lacrosse and rugby in college.
