Chin / Cheek Surgery
for the Detroit, Michigan Area
A strong chin and high cheekbones have long been considered standards of physical beauty, but few people are born with these coveted traits. That's why men and women throughout Michigan seek out chin and cheek surgery to enhance their facial contours.
Whether you need to correct a receding chin, balance out asymmetries or simply want more defined cheekbones, chin and cheek implants can result in a more striking appearance. You can also achieve subtle changes in facial contour through fat grafting, a process of transferring fat from one area of the body, usually the thigh or abdomen, to the face.

Chin / Cheek Surgery from Dr. Vasileff
In Detroit, chin surgery is often done in conjunction with rhinoplasty in Michigan to achieve even greater facial harmony. And, many of Dr. Vasileff's patients who choose to have a face lift or eyelid surgery also opt for cheek surgery to fill out depressions that make them appear tired. This is where fat grafting plays a significant role. Both chin and cheek implants come in a variety of shapes and sizes that are customized to your face. Understanding Chin / Cheek Surgery
Chin and cheek surgery each take 30 to 60 minutes to complete. With chin surgery, Dr. Vasileff makes a small incision under the chin and inserts the implant over the front of the jawbone. With cheek surgery, he makes the incision inside your cheek. If you've opted to have your cheek surgery in conjunction with another procedure such as lower eyelid surgery, Dr. Vasileff can insert the implant through the incisions made for that procedure.
Preparing for Chin / Cheek Surgery
Dr. Vasileff provides you with a pre-operative information packet that explains everything you should do and know before your surgery. You should also arrange for a friend or family member to drive you to and from surgery and stay with you for the first 24 hours.
Recovering from Surgery
You may experience some discomfort, swelling and bruising for several days. It's normal to have some difficulty with smiling and talking as your ability to move your lips and mouth may be diminished temporarily. Although you may look and feel better, it's important to refrain from any activity that could bump your implants out of place, at least for a few weeks.
Enjoying Your Results
You should see the final appearance of your chin or cheek surgery within a few months. Few people will realize you've had anything done, but you can start enjoying your new "you, only better" appearance almost immediately!
