Brow Lift
for the Detroit, Michigan Area
Years ago, people used to wait until they reached their 50s before considering cosmetic surgery to get rid of wrinkles and frown lines. Increasingly though, 30- and 40-something men and women all over Michigan are achieving that more vital, refreshed look with a brow lift.
Also known as a forehead lift, a brow lift smoothes out the wrinkles that develop across the forehead and bridge of the nose and repositions a low or sagging brow. It can be performed alone or with other cosmetic procedures such as a face lift, eyelid surgery or laser skin resurfacing.

Understanding Brow Lift
Brow lift is performed as an outpatient procedure and usually takes about 2-2.5 hours. Advances in surgery make it possible to perform the procedure through a variety of approaches including endoscopy, which involves four to six small incisions behind your hairline. Through these incisions, Dr. Vasileff uses a tiny camera to see under your skin to remove or tighten the muscles and tissues that are responsible for wrinkles, frown lines and drooping eyebrows. An endoscopic brow lift is particularly beneficial for younger patients who do not need removal of excess skin.
Preparing for Brow Lift
To allow your body ample time to heal, it's best to schedule your surgery when it's convenient for you to be away from work. Prior to surgery, make sure you have everything you need at home from groceries to medicine to avoid having to run errands. As with any surgery, you should also arrange for a friend or family member to drive you to and from surgery and stay with you for the first 24 hours.
Recovering from Surgery
You may experience some moderate discomfort, which is easily treated with pain medication. Initial healing may also include swelling, bruising and numbness, which may last 1-2 weeks. Soon after your surgery, you will have a follow-up appointment to remove stitches or staples. Most people return to non-strenuous work in 7-10 days and can resume exercise after about three weeks.
Enjoying Your Results
Your final results will appear within 2-3 months and will be long lasting. Or course, you will continue to age naturally, but a brow lift can erase 5-10 years off your appearance!
